As we've noted before Terry Butler is not one for letting the grass grow under his feet and this was proven last night as the Senior squad played their first pre-season friendly. Crumlin United Football Club Official , one of the top teams in the LSL, were the opposition and the very competitive game ended in a 2-2 draw with Eoghan Morgan and Ollie Hamzat scoring for Athlone. A big thank you to all at Crumlin for the game and the hospitality.
Not wanting the lads to celebrate the New Year too much he has arranged a friendly for next Saturday and another top team, Hardwicke FC , will provide the opposition. If you want to drop along kick off will be at 6pm at Stella Maris.
