Runaway leaders Galway United are the visitors to The Stadium this evening for what is bound to be a very exciting game.
Athlone Head Coach Dario Castelo will have a full squad to pick from with perhaps just a little doubt over German Fuentes who picked up an injury in last weeks win over Wexford.
In the two earlier meetings this season the honours went to Galway who won both games 3 - 1. The home tie last March will be remembered for a remarkable goal when just 16 seconds after Enda Minogue saved a Galway penalty Frantz Pierrot was burying the ball in the Galway net(see clip below).
Galway only managed a 1 - 1 draw away to 10 man Cobh last weekend while Athlone had an impressive 4 - 1 win over Wexford so the Athlone lads will be well up for this game and looking to get back to back wins.
Kick off in The Athlone Town Stadium is at 7.45pm
